Also, weight loss has gone horribly awry. I've lost nearly 15 pounds, but also half a bra size. There's no winning.
And while on the subject of weight loss, "All the Strange, Strange Creatures" from the DW soundtrack is the best RUN FAST NOW song ever.

So last Sunday, while I was still in Utah, I did two things. First, I went to see Star Trek with the bf. It was pretty. Then, that night, we and two of his friends drove out into the west desert salt flats and did some star gazing. Driving along I80 we passed several ominous salt refineries and military bases. We got about half way to Nevada, which meant driving through vast nothingness for an hour and a half. We stopped here, which isn't even a place, but there was a sign.
The stars were gorgeous. The sky is so clear out there. It's also creepy as hell because you're in the middle of nowhere surrounded by military bases passing trucks. We saw a train in the distance.


Now I'm back at school and rowdy drunks are out wandering on this fine summer night.

Also, tentacle rape.

We made chocolate chip and walnut cookies and chocolate chip and Heath Bar cookies.

Am on vacation with le petit ami. Went to downtown Salt Lake City to see Mormons. We went to the top of Evil Co and looked at Temple Square. I had to buy allergy medicine because my throat was closing up.

The Mormon Temple is like the Mormon Bible. It was designed by people who had some sort of idea of what a religious building was supposed to look like, but sketched it all from memory.

It's like a child's drawing of a cathedral.

I'm sorry, I forgot to bring the puppets out so I didn't get any holiday photos of them yet.

It is a common trope among college art students* to produce works that are sexually explicit and/or offensive. I've never really had an urge to do such a thing, but everyone else was and I felt left out.

The assignment was to make two figures. Here's a paper-mache sculpture made of torn up Bibles of two men having sex. It was well received. Hooray for secular institutions. This is the second try, technically, because I needed to change a couple things.

And just for the hell of it I decorated the coat rack also.
( We are very mature here, yes. )

*I'm not an "art student" per se. I mean, it's not my major. That'd be a bit silly. It's more of a hobby.

Nrityagram Dance Ensemble is performing here tonight and the art classes got to go and draw them for an hour while they rehearsed. It was so cool! OMG OMG OMG.

I did stuff for the art exchange on 500year_diary. I requested something involving Delgado and got this cute comic. It makes me imagine the Master wearing water wings, which makes me smile like an idiot because it's so cute.

I can now get gay married between classes, as Vermont is ten minutes from campus. Hurrah.

There was a sign on the pastry cabinet at breakfast this morning that said "Ass Turnovers." By which was meant "Assorted Turnovers." But really, someone must have noticed.

I saw a bearded woman walking down the street yesterday. She had a goatee. I keep telling the boyfriend I want him to grow a goatee but can't tell him the primary reason, which is that he would look like Anthony Ainley and then I could dress up as the Rani and drag him to a con and my life would be complete.

Also, art, from 500year_diary. Did anyone watch Space Cases back in the '90s? I loved this show and just found the episodes online and ( realized something )

My friend asked me to make a desktop background with the 8bit pixel drawings. I have NOT in fact done that because I'm a bad friend and a lazy bastard. I DID however draw 8bit versions of One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven, Eight, Nine, Ten, Simm!Master (attempts at a goatee made it look like there was a gaping hole in the head), shooty dog thing, Daleks, random Time Lord dude, Cyberman, and the Tardis and put them all together

Second, this is a new style of drawing for me, lineless drawing on photoshop, so I'd appreciate any feedback.
